This is the new Large Capacity Washer that is now in the Transitions Global (Cambodia) Shelter for girls who are survivors of the sex trade.
How did this happen?
Through the influence of the Laundry Love Project in the US, we began thinking of how this idea might become global. We dreamed up and tested the Virtual Laundry Love Box, a virtual box costing $20 that would generate income to purchase laundry equipment for safe houses/shelters for trafficking survivors and displaced children around the world. We wanted 100% of the proceeds to go directly to the effort and asked that those who partnered with us would purchase the equipment from their local context, helping local economy.
The first partner was Transitions Cambodia, now Transitions Global, as they are taking the lead in opening the first ever shelter for trafficking survivors here in Portland Oregon.
With the help from one special girl living in Bend Oregon and dozens of others in the Portland and LA areas, this experiment worked. Together we have purchased this and the girls are so very grateful.
Thanks for making the virtual possible…
Creating a justone world…
